So what is the difference between Smooth Jazz and Jazz? Much of its opinion, but you could say that smooth jazz is more smooth than jazz.

However, many talented jazz artists make smooth jazz now which has become an established genre.

One of the best groups is Fourplay, comprising such great musicians as Bob James, Lee Ritenour, Nathan East, Larry Carlton and Harvey Mason.

This track Traces, is an excellent example of this genre, a nice groove with a good hook and a tinkling piano that does a gentle solo at the end.

It comes from Topaz Bon, an unknown artist originally from London, England and can be found on the LP Dangerous Love along with many other fine instrumentals of many different genres.
