Darondo - Didn't I - 1973

A friend suggested I watch this series called Breaking Bad. I asked him what it was about, and he told me a drug dealer. My first thought, no not my thing. However, I tried it and was hooked from the first episode.
Not only was it a fantastic series, but it also had some
great music. When I first heard this track, I thought it was some kind of
modern-soul cut. I know a lot of 70’s soul, but had never heard of Darondo. It’s
such a great sweet song that I was sure that it would have been well known if
it were a 70’s track. However, I was surprised to find it was released in 1973,
and completely unknown, one that had truly slipped through the chart grid.
In his album, he sounds like a cross between Al Green, and
James Brown. It’s such a sweet song and his voice is like silk floating in the
wind.
It played in Breaking Bad when Walter White (hero or
anti-hero?) sets alight a car in a gas station.
A true soul classic.
